Why Choose Satellite Service vs Cable TV Service - Is there really a difference?

I was going over some subscription applications for cable TV service when my sister told me that it would be much preferable to have a Satellite Service vs cable TV Service. I thought a while back that this was just the same, but through her explanation, I understood immediately the difference between the two.

As per said, Satellite service TV would use dishes, or satellite dishes in order to get the channels you want. Over the last decade or so, satellite TV has improved in the number of channels provided, and also the quality reception of the dishes. You can say technology has really made the difference in here are the dishes these days are so powerful that you can even get reception in the remotest of places. And recently, there is the satellite service provider called DISH NETWORK, which has really made an impact in terms of providing quality service for satellite TV. By providing excellent satellite service to millions of citizens in the US, even the farthest reaches of the country can be reached by satellite service, making it a real sought after choice for most people. Also with almost 230 plus channels in the lineup, including sports and entertainment channels available, it has certainly the potential to match cable TV in terms of providing excellent TV viewing experience.

As for Cable TV, of course this is the more popular choice for many homes. The reason being is that it is high quality, and the number of HD channels can really make a difference especially for those who love watching movies, series, or documentaries. Cable TV has been the pioneer in this kind of service, and over the course of decades, there is no stopping its growth. Now boasting of more than 300 possible channels, including around 120 HD channels, one of the biggest networks, Direct TV, has certainly made its mark in the industry. In terms of advantages, cable TV certainly has a lot. Since it relies on cables, only when you ruin the cable wires will reception be damaged. This helps provide a good medium for clear transmission, hereby creating the HD service for TV.  More than that, the variety of channels is more than a match for satellite TV. You can say that cable TV has a lot on its side to help it win the battle of the service providers, but of course, this is subjective depending on the population.

If you ask me, I would still prefer the satellite TV service. Why? For a simple reason that the place I live happens to be in a remote part of the country. Though cable TV can already reach our place, for convenience’s sake, I would much rather have this satellite dish which I can place anywhere in the house, instead of a cable wire which will place quite some difficulty as to where I will be stationing it permanently. And given that this is easily the best choice for me, I would pick satellite service in the blink of an eye.

Of course, my choice was dependent on where I happened to live. But if I were in a different situation, say maybe I was in the city, I would have picked cable TV service as this is quite easy and almost every house or room there probably has cable TV connection already. So as you can see, there are advantages to either one of them, but they are dependent on the people who want it installed whether they prefer the satellite service vs the cable TV service. There is no competition I think, as both are equal in terms of quality viewing.
